Hi I'm Rylee

I'm from Montana. I am a college student. I love to snowboard. I'm serving a mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I just graduated high school and I'm headed to college to study nursing or biology. I like to do anything crafty. In particular I like sewing. I like video games and good movies. I love reading from religious material to sci-fi. I did gymnastics for 10 years and then quit before my junior year in high school so I could focus on school and figuring out who I really am. I am the oldest of 5 children. My parents are also foster parents, so there are always more than just 7 people in my house, but I wouldn't have it any other way. I am now a college student and am preparing to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was born my mom was an active member of the church, but my father was not a member. I grew up with just going to church with my mom. She has been an incredible example to me of faith and endurance. When I was 7 my dad converted and was able to baptize me when I was 8. I feel so blessed to now have both parents faithful members of the gospel who help me through my trials by being good examples. But having good examples is not enough for me to have my own testimony. I have read the Book of Mormon multiple times and I know it to be true. Every other aspect of the church I have found to be true by testing principles and praying about them. Also through the mistakes I have made and by using the Atonement I have found that my Heavenly Father love me and everyone else in this world. I know that He lives and I know this church is true. We have a true living prophet on the earth today. I know he is the mouthpiece that God uses to guide the members of the church. I testify of these things in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

How I live my faith

I have been a youth leader since I was 12. I have tried to help other girls my age feel the love of the gospel by being their friend. I have volunteered as a mentor at an elementary school and helped kids with their school work. I now help kids at church learn about the gospel. I also am a gymnastics coach and swim teacher. My family also fosters young children. It is such a blessing for me to have worked with so many children in so many different settings. I believe it is an important duty to teach children in positive learning environments and to teach them with love. I know that all of these experiences will help me when I become a mother.

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Rylee
Yes, I personally love the Bible. I know it is the true word of God and testifies of Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father. The Book of Mormon is another testament of Christ and it supports everything that is already in the Bible. Show more Show less
