Hi I'm Jed

I live in Arizona. I unicycle, I dance and I am part of the FFA. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I have lived in Arizona my entire life. I have a hundred and one hobbies when I was 8 I discovered my dad's old unicylce it was to small for him so no one was using it. I would come home everyday and practice and by practice I mean bruising every inch of my body as I tried and tried to ride it. Eventually I learned and over time I have learned many tricks and even ride it on mountain bike trails. I love being in the outdoors I am a eagle scout and enjoy camping, fishing, hiking and I recently bought a Kayak. I was very involved in Future Farmers of America through which I learned many life skill.s. I also got to travel a lot as a member and also served as a State Officer. One of my favorite memories is road tripping from Arizona to Nebraska. I have gone to College the last year and have been studying biology. I will return to school after I serve a 2 year mission for the church.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that the church is true. I know that there is a true and living Prophet on the earth. I am a Mormon because of the strength and unity it has brought to my family. I know that these things are true because I have read the Book of Mormon and prayed to find out if it is true. I know that when I follow the teaching of the Savior with as much exactness as I can I know that I am happier and that I can feel close to God when I am following in his foot steps. I never had an exact moment when I knew that being a Mormon was right for me but rather it was a slow process where I pray too know if one part of the Gospel was true and in each case I received affirmation that it was true.

How I live my faith

I try to find ways to serve others both in the church and outside it. I have served as an organizer for the Young Single Adults Ward where I go to College. My family also was asked to attend with the Spanish Branch to boost their numbers. It was kind of challenging because most of my family including me does not speak Spanish but it was still a good experience. I was recently called to be a Missionary I am very excited about the opportunity and look forward to teaching others about what Jesus Christ has done for them.

Why don’t Mormons drink coffee, tea, or alcohol? What is the Mormon Church’s law of health and proper diet?

There are a lot of people that ask me why I think of it is that we must always be ready to serve God and that is much harder to do if you are reliant on drugs, alcohol, or Tobacco. It does not take long for drugs, alcohol, or Tobacco to start dictating behavior, many bad decisions are made under the influence of drugs of alcohol, and tobacco addiction can be very distracting. It is also commonly known that these things are not good for the human body. But what really confuses some people is that we do not partake of coffee or tea. But how many people say they cannot get up in the morning with out it. It should be a love of others and a desire to serve that wakes us up not coffee or tea. In all it is about being our best and it is very difficult to be our best if we are not at the peak of our health. Show more Show less
