Hi I'm Darci

I am a mother of four, I love to write, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My husband and I have been married for almost six years and we have four beautiful children. My husband is going to school and I stay at home with the kids. I love being a stay at home mom! In trying to preserve the memories we make as a family, I have recently been getting into digital scrapbooking. I've played the piano almost all my life and one of my other favorite activities is reading. I also enjoy writing and have a few books in the making. I hope some day to get one or more of them published.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the church my whole life. When I was young I was taught that I needed to find out for myself that the church was true. I would read my scriptures and pray to do just that. I remember the first time I finished the Book of Mormon by myself and I knelt to pray to ask if it was true. When I said that prayer that day, I think I was expecting some big sign or vision to come to me, some sort of big event. Instead, I remember clearly just feeling incredibly peaceful and having a distinct thought come to my mind, "You've known it's true all your life." It was a very sweet experience for me and I have never doubted. It is a blessing to know that the Lord is looking out for me, that He will take the time to answer my prayers, and especially that He knows me and loves me because I am his child.

How I live my faith

In our old ward I used to be in Activity Days where my "teaching companion" and myself would meet with the 8 to 11 year old girls twice a month to do an activity that would also strengthen their faith and help them achieve different goals. I loved serving in that capacity and miss the girls since we have moved! In our new ward, my husband and I have been called to team teach the 4 and 5 year old children on Sundays. We have loved it so far! It is such a blessing to teach young children the gospel and be reminded of its simple truths along the way.
