Hi I'm Victoria

I am Mexican, love to sing and act, an aspiring author and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a typical 25 year old, working full time just finished my B.A. in Liberal Arts. I hope to become a published author. I love to read it’s a passion, I love when a good book can take me to another place and time it gives me a break from reality for a short time and makes me want to be a better writer. I also have a passion for acting and singing as well. I was involved in theater and chorus all through high school and fell in love with the stage. I grew up a bit of a tom boy with four brothers, one of which is my twin. I love college football, Go LONGHORNS!! And I enjoy baseball as well. I also have a passion for music. I have been involved in choir since I was in fourth grade and music is something that brings me true pleasure in this world. I also love being involved in church activities. Church has also been my place of comfort, peace, happiness and I love being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon? There is a simple answer for this and that is I choose to be. I may have been born into the church and brought up in the church but I am here because I made the choice to be here. That really is the most wonderful thing about this gospel. It is a gospel of choice and freedom. I had to gain my own testimony and conviction of this gospel as do all members regardless of if you are born into the church or not. I choose to live this life because I know with all my being that is true, that it brings peace and comfort, and that through it I can one day return to my father in heaven and my elder brother Jesus Christ and live for eternity with them and my family. This gospel changes lives and allows us to be truly happy and to enjoy life and all the beautiful things it has to offer things that really matter in life. So why am I a Mormon because I choose to be and because God needs me to be.

How I live my faith

As a young single adult of the church I have the opportunity to attend a ward specifically for single members but I live at home and attend a family ward with my parents. This however has been a great thing for me because I have the opportunity to work with the children in our ward ages 4-11. I was a teacher for the 4-5 year olds for about a year and then became the teachers for the 9 year olds and the secretary in the presidency for our wards program. I have loved being able to work with the children in our church. They love to learn and have the sweetest spirit is and answers for all the questions brought up in lessons taught to them. I am currently the sunday school teacher for the youth in our ward its a new calling for me and I look forward to it because our youth are so strong and have amazing open hearts and minds. I grew up a member of the church and remember my teachers and leaders and how wonderful they were and strive to be as impressionable on the children I now look over, it helps me to be a better leader and person because I know how much influence I can have on the young children and youth in our church. They teach me more than I could ever hope to teach them. I also am involved in our young single adult program at church and love that I get to spend time with other people who have standards and strive to live the gospel as much as I do. We have some many fun activities and have recently started dance class lessons together. Because there are so many of us from all different backgrounds we are able to really enjoy the diversity of our group and learn more about the people and world around us. There are some who are converts and I love being able to hear about their conversion to the gospel. I also enjoy all of the commnunity service we get to do as a group. It brings us closer together and allows us to help other and reminds me to be thankful for what I have.
