Hi I'm Sally

I am a mother of 3 boys. Spending time with my family out in nature is my favorite pastime, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Aloha! I grew up on Oahu, in the Hawaiian islands. I am now a mother of 3 boys in a homeschooling family! Our family loves to be outside in the ocean, swimming, snorkeling, and jumping off rocks! I am a surfer and love all things natural, simple, and beautiful. Being outdoors in nature brings me so much joy in life! When I'm not running around with my kids and husband, or surfing, I am serving in my community as a Babywearing educator, a volunteer for La Leche League International, and always looking for ways in helping other moms to find joy in motherhood!

Why I am a Mormon

Although I grew up Mormon and was baptized when I was eight, my true conversion to the gospel didn't come until I was 21 years old. As a teenager I had run into some hard circumstances in my life and through my hurt and confusion, decided to turn away from church and God. I stayed away from religion for many years, until I realized that my life was seriously lacking spirituality, guidance, and a positive direction. It had been so long since I had called on God, but decided one night to say a prayer asking for help. I kneeled down and asked God if he remembered me, and if he could help me find happiness again? The next day my prayer was answered when an old friend came into my life and invited me back to church. I was hesitant to go, but felt a strong urge that this was what I needed to do. I was 21 years old and knew that God had answered my prayer in helping me move forward with my life. It wasn't easy at first to attend church, but I found that attending my meetings was a huge step to bringing the spirit of God back into my life. At church, I was re-learning many things I had forgotten, such as the strength I receive when I read the Book of Mormon and Bible, the healing power of Christ's atonement, the gifts of the Holy Ghost, and the support I can receive from direct revelation from my Heavenly Father. God wanted me at church, and I couldn't deny it! Once I was able to accept God's sincere love for me, and His sincere desire to help me be the person I was supposed to be, my life changed miraculously. I found the guidance I needed, and I was touched by many wonderful friends who came into my life to care about me and inspire me to be happy. I was able to reach out to Jesus Christ, and utilize the power of forgiveness and love in my life. I am so grateful that I am a Mormon. It has brought me such happiness, joy, and blessings in my life! I love to share what I believe with others, and know that God is lovingly waiting for all His children to reach out to Him.

How I live my faith

I've always loved the way I feel when I am serving others. It is exciting to me to be called to serve those in need of love and nurturing! Being a part of the LDS church has given me opportunites to serve other people in many capacities, as a Youth leader, in the Women's organization, and also working with Primary children. When I go to church I look for opportunities to help other people, and love the way I can connect and learn from others, as well. I feel that our purpose here on earth is to share what we know about God and to help others find and develop a relationship with Him. Through serving in the church and in my community, I have been able to share my testimony of my Heavenly Father, and how he has touched and changed my life for the good. I live my faith by sharing God's power in my life with those who around me. I want other people to feel the strength that I feel through knowing God's love and support is behind me in all that I do, even when I stumble and fall constantly. I live my faith by having faith that God loves me and I will return to live with Him someday.
