Hi I'm Whitney

Paralegal, Wife, Mormon

About Me

My passions consist of date night with my husband, exercising and staying healthy (while having some chocolate here and there), and spending my free time doing crafts. I also enjoy playing sports: football, soccer and ultimate frisbee. I come from an active LDS family with 6 kids, me being the oldest. I grew up in the Boise, Idaho area. After high school I went to cosmetology school in Eastern Idaho. A few months after I received my cosmetology license, I served an LDS mission in the Chicago Suburbs for 18 months. Shortly after returning from my mission, I met my husband, Justin. We're living in Orem, Utah, a suburb of Salt Lake City. I am currently working as a paralegal for an asset protection law firm. My husband I don't have any children, but we hope to start our family soon.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God, and that he is the prophet that Restored the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I know that he translated the Book of Mormon, through divine help from God. I know the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ, and that thorough study of it will bring all of us closer to Him. I know that Christ lives, I know He loves me, and I know He is always there for me. Prayer is powerful, and I know that prayers can be answered. I know that there are blessings from being obedient, exactly obedient to be more specific. I know that this life is a time to prepare to meet God, and that Christ will save us FROM our mistakes, not while we're in them. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is Christ's true church.

How I live my faith

The most simple way to explain how I live my faith is this, I strive to live the standards that are taught in the LDS church. Am I perfect? No, but I do the best I can. I believe that following the example of Jesus Christ is the best way to live. Christ is the Savior, and best friend. I do my best to make Him proud every day with my thoughts and actions.

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Missionaries come to people's homes to share a message about faith, peace, and hope we can receive as we follow Jesus Christ. We also teach of principles that are applicable to families. What I love the most that missionaries do is that they teach of Heavenly Father's glorious plan that allows us to live with Him again. Show more Show less

What is the Word of Wisdom that Mormons talk about?

One of the greatest gifts we have from our Heavenly Father is our bodies. Through the prophet Joseph Smith He gave us a law, the Word of Wisdom, as a way to keep our bodies and minds clean, healthy and strong. We do so by abstaining from the following: tobacco, alcohol, coffee, tea, and any form of illegal drugs. To go along with those things, we're asked to eat in a more proper way and to do all we can to be physically and spiritually healthy. We're promised great physical health and many other blessings as we abide by the Word of Wisdom. Show more Show less
