Hi I'm Bob Lawton

I grew up in Colorado and worked as a scientist in Boulder.

About Me

I lived most of my life in Colorado. I married my first wife in the Cardston Canada Temple, and we had 6 wonderful children . She passed away in 1991, and I was able to marry another wonderful woman in the Provo, Utah temple. Together we have 9 children, 37 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. My professional career was enjoyed with the National Bureau of Standards in Boulder, Colorado. While there I was able to earn a doctor of philosophy degree in Electrical Engineering at the University of Colorado. I have enjoyed bicycle riding, swimming, water skiing, cross country skiing, and golfing, but having just passed my 80th birthday I enjoy daily walks with my wife.

Why I am a Mormon

When a young church member, I didn't understand how people could say the Book of Mormon is a true book. But after reading it carefully, the spirit testified to me that the book truly came from God. It then follows that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and that one can get closer to God by following the teachings of that book and the teachings of the prophets of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints than by any other way. I have found the way that gives me true joy in life

How I live my faith

I enjoy attending Sunday worship services with my wife and serve with her as a ward missionary and a family history consultant. I have served a mission in Finland as a young man, and two senior missions with my current wife in Russia Far East and Finland.
