Hi I'm Dylan

Alberta Canada is my home and joy. I'm serving a mission in Pennsylvania. My family is my foundation. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in the city of Calgary, but soon moved to the town of Pincher Creek after my mother divorced my dad. I have enjoyed the small town lifestyle ever since, and love the "everybody knows everyone culture." I am the oldest in my family, and have one younger brother. My mom is re-married, and we are a small, happy family. I love anything to do with technology, cars, movies, and even cats! I went to University for two years, and studied towards a degree in General Science. I am aspiring to become either a pharmacist or orthodontist someday. I am currently serving a two year mission in Pennsylvania, and it has been the best experience of my life so far.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been greatly blessed to have been raised in the church since my childhood, and it has blessed my life more than anything else. My mother has always been a strong member of the church, along with my Grandparents. My father is not a member of our faith, but he has always been supportive of my decisions and has helped me progress in his own special way. I have always known deep within my heart that the gospel of the church is true, but I never truly gained that sincere conviction for myself until I came out here on my mission, and personally witnessed the life changing principles it has in store for us, and how good life can be. I am a Mormon because the gospel of Jesus Christ is real, and without Him, we can do nothing in our lives that will bring us ultimate happiness. He is the cornerstone of my life, and because of Christ's teachings, we can accomplish anything. We have the ability to be with our families forever with this knowledge, and that is why I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. We can experience joy with our families right now, and we can also secure eternal happiness with them for time and eternity. There is not a more beautiful message than that in all this world.

How I live my faith

I find that there are plenty of opportunities everyday to share and live what I know is true in my heart. Serving others is a great aspect of our beliefs, and I strive to find simple ways to help those around me each day of my life. We can be a force for good in the world today, and the happy smiles that comes to one's face is completely rewarding in return! I have the great opportunity now in my life to be serving a two year mission for the church, and being able to help those in need everyday for these two years by sharing my beliefs is incredible. I have also lived and witnessed the gospel come to life in my family, especially on the topics of joy and forgiveness. Many would find it difficult to cope with not knowing their real father, and dealing with the struggles that happen in one's family. However, I know that Jesus Christ lives, and through the power of His gospel we can all experience peace and belonging in the family unit. Broken hearts can be mended with His love for us, and we overcome any challenge ahead of us with Christ's help. Families are an important part of God's plan for us, and it truly is a Plan of Happiness.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Serving a full-time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is not mandatory by any means. However, it is an honorable privilege and is highly encouraged due to the life-changing power that it has on those who choose to serve. I am currently serving a mission in the state of Pennsylvania for two full years (the standard for young adult men), and this relatively small period of time in my life has brought about several experiences that have changed me forever. My mission has taught me how to be self-reliant, to love those around me and to provide service to them, and it has ultimately taught me the true meaning of life in that I can make preparations today to be with my family forever. This message has brought me great joy in my life, and that makes me want to share it with everyone that I see! The sacrifice of two years may seem significant in the eyes of many, but to me, it is a small price to pay in return for the abundance of blessings that my Savior Jesus Christ has given me in my life.
