Hi I'm Norm McGregor

I grew up in Pleasant View Utah. I love to laugh, ( clean humor is the best humor) work and brighten other peoples day!

About Me

I am currently a missionary for the church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints. Serving in the Florida Orlando mission. I love the work i get to do and love watching Jesus Christ change other peoples life for the better. I often think however that people see missionaries out and about and look at us as if we are not normal people. And for this reason as a missionary i try to be myself in all ways while sustaining a sense of christian dignity. Some of my favorite hobbies include cars, spending time with family and friends, and of course paintballing!. Before my mission i enjoyed working on interior detailing and sound system installation for cars. I spent allot of my time doing this through out high school when i wasnt doing home work, working or spending time with friends or family. My family means allot to me. In today's society we see the family going through many hardships and as a result society is taking a tole. I am grateful for my family and for all that they have taught me and helped me become. I love to look at life as a glass half full. Sure at times we have our hardships but if we can take those and look at them as opportunities to grow in patience and closer to the lord. Only by remaining optimistic can we come to find true joy in knowing that happiness is not a result of set circumstances but a decision you make every day you wake up.

Why I am a Mormon

Well i was raised in a Mormon family. However i didn't always believe that it was fully true. From the time i was 12 to about 16 i went to church mainly because my parents had asked me to go. ( i can be assured that their intentions were right). It came to the point when i had to really question if all of this was true. So i talked to one of the leaders in the church known as a bishop and told him my concerns. He asked me one simple question that i will never forget. He said Have you read the book of mormon? Of course i had to answer him honestly. No i replied. He then encouraged me to read and pray about it. I began to do so. I came across a scripture that had impacted me in my readings it recites as such 3 Behold, I would exhort you that when ye shall read these things, if it be wisdom in God that ye should read them, that ye would remember how merciful the Lord hath been unto the children of men, from the creation of Adam even down until the time that ye shall receive these things, and ponder it in your hearts. 4 And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost. 5 And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things. I had the opportunity to kneel down in my room and sincerely ask god in prayer if the book of mormon was true. And as i did i felt the holy ghost testify to me through my feelings and mind that the book of mormon is gods word. I felt the feelings listed in Galations 5:22 And i knew from that moment on that the book of mormon is true. Over time i continued to read the book of mormon as i do now. And every time i do i still get the same feelings of peace and joy. I know with out a doubt that the book of mormon is true and that any one can know this if they ask god.

How I live my faith

I live my faith currently by serving as a full time missionary. What happens in the church is when a young man turns 18 ( for female missionaries its 19) and graduates high school they have the opportunity to go on a mission. They fill out an application and send it to the headquarters of the church. Then the leaders of the church look at the application and pray upon where that missionary should go to fulfill his assignment. The area I was assigned to is central Florida. As a missionary we go door to door. Talk to friends and neighbors and in reality do everything we can to find people to share the gospel of Jesus christ with. Its been an amazing calling and i have grown so much closer to others and to my heavenly father as i have strived to work my hardest in helping others learn about the church and the potential blessings that await anyone who will listen and act on the message we share as missionaries.
