Hi I'm Ben Hunt

I'm a southern boy from Georgia. I'm very comfortable in my own skin, and that's because I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Illinois, but I grew up in Mississippi for 10 years. When I was in the middle of High School, between my sophomore and junior year, we moved to Georgia. Then, I went to school for a while at BYU. I love to play any sport I can possibly get to. My favorites are volleyball, soccer, and football. I have two brothers and one sister along with an adorable niece. I like to learn as much as I can about anything, especially about God and religion. I definitely find the time to have fun and go out about the time, but I will always have a special place for God and this religion. I love my family so much. I would rather be with them than with an other group of people.

Why I am a Mormon

I don't think I ever seriously thought that this church was false or ever desired to leave it. I was born into the church and I've gone ever since I was a little baby, but I used to go only because my parents went and I followed them every week. I went to all the activities, I enjoyed going and knew it was good for me, but I didn't really have that knowledge for myself that this whole thing is true. I just thought that since my parents go, and I feel good here, that it was right and that I should just keep going. But then it came to the point where I was in upper high school and college where I was given a little bit more freedom and I was given more of a choice. I still went to church because it was fun and I enjoyed it and the people, but I still didn't have that personal desire or testimony. So, when I was in college, since I wasn't with my parents all the time anymore, I had much more opportunity to not go to church and to do other things. So, I had a decision to make. I could either go to church like I always have my entire life, or I could change paths and stop going and live a different life. I don't like to admit it, but it was a hard decision. There was a lot of good looking perks about not going to church and to just do things differently, but there was always something pulling me back to think that church would still be better. I didn't really know why back then, but now I know. Being a Mormon is the only thing that can give me the joy that I have now.

How I live my faith

I try to be an example of Jesus Christ every day and in every place I might be. I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and as such, I feel as if I must be more. I love my neighbor as much as I can by my actions and by my words. Because I am in this Gospel and of this faith, I feel happier in my life. I am always smiling especially to strangers. When I see a stranger, I love to smile a wave just like we're friends. I try to follow the example of my parents every day and I know that as I do good things for others, we'll be blessed more and in return, we'll be happier. Basically, I live my faith in every way possible. I do good for others, I help others whenever possible, I smile and wave, and I just go about doing what I feel God would have me do.
