Hi I'm Aubrey

I'm a mom. I love to snow ski and spend time outdoors. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm your average, everyday Mom. I have 4 amazing kids, and a saint of a husband who puts up with all my craziness. I In what little spare time I have, I love to read or be outside or spend time with my kids. I actually LOVE amusement parks, although I'm getting old and the 'thrill' rides are more nauseating than thrilling. :) I love to help out in the community, and frequently get myself involved in more things that I have time for. I have way more dreams and goals for the future than I could possibly accomplish. I have a strange fascination with cupcakes, and would love to open a bakery someday. I have a secret desire to write a book, and even have a list of book ideas that I keep with me. I want to travel the world and experience all there is. As a kid, all I wanted to be was an archeologist - and the pyramids of Egypt are still high on my list of sights. I want to take college classes - not for credit, but just for fun. :)

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up as a Mormon, there came a point in my life where I had to actually stand on my own two feet and decide that I actually knew the church was true for myself. I had to decide WHY I wanted to go to church. I think that happened for me when I was in college. My final year of college, my family moved away, and I had to decide if I believed the church was true. My family was no longer there to lean on spiritually. I could have quit going to church, and my family wouldn't have known. But, I was never even tempted. I realized that I knew the church was true and I WANTED to be a part of it. I am a Mormon because I know this church is true. I am a Mormon because it makes me happy. I am a Mormon because I know that I have been sealed to my husband for all eternity. I am a Mormon because I have great hope that I will be able to be with my children forever. I am a Mormon because I am grateful for the atonement that my Savior made for me, and I want to do anything I can to show Him that gratitude. I am a Mormon because I have a deep, abiding testimony that an angel did appear to Joseph Smith and restored the full truth to the earth. It is not always easy to be a Mormon. There are days when it just seems too hard. Whether it's outside forces questioning what I believe, or just trying to do what is right, it can be difficult. But, those moments are very fleeting. More often than not, I am overwhelmed by feelings of gratitude for all that I am blessed with by being a member of the church. I will be forever grateful to be a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints my entire life. The church is the foundation for my life. I truly believe it is why I experience happiness. I try to live my faith every day. I strive to always be an example of goodness to those around me - no matter whether it is in my neighborhood, at my kids' schools or just smiling at the checkers at the grocery store. I love to serve at church as well. I have served in many capacities, but my favorite place to help is with the youth. I just finished working with the 14-16 year old girls, and I developed friendships that I will carry with me my entire life. I love the opportunity to be an influence for good to those around me. I love being able to share what I believe. I think I love being with the youth because I don't feel like I ever truly grew up! I can be as silly as I want, and it is okay! It strengthened my faith as I watched those young women grow and develop their own faith.
