Hi I'm Sister Shayla Danielson

I believe that families can be together forever, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

As the oldest of seven children I have learned a lot about hard work. I split wood on weekends, and can vegetables with my Mom. I have been an avid reader since the age of eight, and a pianist since the age of nine. Since my love of reading far acceded my love of playing music (though don't get me wrong, I love the piano) I decided that my school goals needed to be book oriented. Since then I have decided to pursue a career in editing, specifically YA novels in the fantasy genre.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I want to be close to Christ. I want to have a personal relationship with my Savior, and the teachings of the Bible and the Book of Mormon do that. I want to live with my family forever, and through the Gospel of Jesus Christ I can do that. This Gospel means so much to me. I know God loves me, I know that He wants the best for me and even though that means that at times I have struggles and hardships, He cares for me and will help me the entire way, regardless of where I'm at on my path to Him. The greatest blessing the Lord has given to us today is this Gospel on the Earth. I know that it will bless you. It will help your families, it will help your trials. But you don't have to believe me, because my words are just that, words. If you want to know if what I'm saying is true, or even possible, get a Book of Mormon and read it. Ask God if it's true, and if it is, what you should do about it. The Lord loves you, and He won't leave you hanging. This Gospel will bless your life. I know it's blessed mine.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Salt Lake City Spanish speaking. I am blessed to be able to publicly show people how I live my faith every minute of every day. As a missionary I don't read my fantasy books that I love, I don't write them, I don't listen to certain types of music, and I don't do school. Instead for the next 18 months (as of Febraury 27th, 2013), I am serving the Lord everyday 24/7. I teach people about His gospel and the blessing that it is in my life. I share how much Christ and His sacrifice means to me, and hope that I can bring to others the same peace that I feel. I'm not going to lie, it isn't easy. But it's worth it, because when I bring others unto Christ, I am sharing Christ's love for all of His children.

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Sister Shayla Danielson
The Bible is an inspired work of God, telling us about His love for all of His children and His plan for us. Mormon's hold the Bible to be the sacred Word fo God, and that it is for the benefit of His children. While we do believe in The Book of Mormon, the Doctrine and Covenants etc. to be the word of God, they do not replace the Bible. If anything, they support the Bible and it's teachings.
