Hi I'm Katie

I love to dance! I'm 17, have been dancing for 14 years, and I absolutely love it. I'm a senior in High School and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I love to dance (obviously) and I'm on my school's Varsity dance team. I do Jazz, Hip Hop, Pom, and Kick dance styles. I'm also a senior in High School, and with school, dance, and church it can sometimes get crazy! I want to go to BYU after I graduate, and get a degree in nursing.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because this church makes me happy, and I love my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I know my Savior suffered for me because he loves me and knows me personally. It's nice to know that no matter how lonely I may feel, Jesus Christ and my Heavenly Father will always be there for me. I also am grateful for the plan of salvation and the opportunity to live with my Father in Heaven and my Savior once again. No matter how many mistakes I make, because of the Atonement and Plan of Salvation, I will be able to live with Him again. I'm a Mormon because I have the chance to live with my family forever, and I love my family so much I don't know where I would be without them. To be able to live with them and see them forever would be amazing! I know the church is true and does nothing but benefit me, bless me, and help me to live a worthy life so I'll be able to live with my Father in Heaven again.

How I live my faith

I live my faith mostly by being an example. I dress modestly, never use foul language, and try to always be kind to those around me. I'm one of 4 members in my High School, so it can be hard sometimes to be an example when I'm by myself. But I always try to think about the bigger picture, and that it won't always be so hard and my hard work will pay off. I know that being an example is important because people will be able to count on me and look up to me even when I don't notice. I'm so glad to be part of this church and it has blessed me in so many ways, and I feel so happy all the time because I know it to be true.

Why did your church previously practice plural marriage (polygamy)?

We only used to practice polygamy because it was necessary at the time and the Lord had commanded it. Show more Show less

What are Mormon temples used for?
