Hi I'm Breanne

I am married to the love of my life. We have four boys and our sweet angel girl who will be born with anencephaly.

About Me

I was raised in the LDS faith. My dad was also raised in the church and my mother was converted as a teenager. Her mother, my grandma, is a devout catholic and I love attending mass with her. All three of us love getting together and spend most of our time laughing. My grandma is open to talking about religion and we never down play each others beliefs. I love both her and my grandfather so much. I have three younger brothers and I think that was the best way to grow up. They are fantastic and we have a great time together. My husband and I were married young and started our family right off. My husband graduated with a bachelor of science in nursing and specialized in wound care and hyperbarics. I was able to go back to school and finish my associates but I find true joy and satisfaction in being home with my children and volunteering at their school. We have four great boys ages 10-2. We are pregnant with our fifth child which is a girl! We discovered she had anencephaly (not compatible with life) at 16 weeks gestation which was devastating and is still heart wrenching at times. We decided that instead of terminating the pregnancy like the doctors suggested (because of my previous c sections) that we would let her stay as long as she wanted and enjoy every minute we have with her. We feel so blessed to have this special experience with her. If you would like to learn more about anencephaly and our story you can follow our journey, ourjourneywithjoy.blogspot.com

Why I am a Mormon

I love the spirit that I feel when I read the Bible and the Book of Mormon. I have never felt that any where else. The words of the living prophets are just as important and I feel comfort when reading them. I know I want my family to be stuck together forever and I especially want to be able to raise my daughter even though I will not have that opportunity here on earth. The Savior and the blessings of the temple help me accomplish that.

How I live my faith

I know the Lord knows us and knows what we need during difficult times. Two days before my unborn child was diagnosed with anencephaly I was called to help lead the youth in our church. There is nothing that I enjoy more (other than my husband :)) than working with the children and getting to see my own children interact in a religious setting. We have over 125 children so they keep us busy making sure that they are all reaching their true potential. I work specifically with the scouting program and the little children 18 months-3 years. I love scouts and the important things it teaches the youth. I also love the little ones and could enjoy just spending our time at church with them. I know that the Lord knew I needed a calling that would keep my mind busy when I was not busy doing things with my own family. I have grown closer to my Savior and my Father in Heaven in these few short months and I know that through my faith in the Savior and with my husband I can make it through these next few months and find joy in the journey and stay positive.
