Hi I'm Michelle

I grew up in Oklahoma, USA, now in South Florida. I am an Independent Online Marketing Associate. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was allowed to drink alcohol at my caretakers house and was told I was a funny drunk at age three. Things went down hill after that, until my mom married a man and we joined the church when I was nine years old. We had a great family life for a while. I left home at age 15 and began drinking and using pills. I married for the first time at age 17. Over the years, I was married several times. I didn't feel like I could go back to church, because I felt so guilty for what I had done. I would go back to the meetings for a while and then leave for my old pal the bottle. Finally I read the Book of Mormon and gained a testimony of my Savior, Jesus Christ. I have a beautiful daughter and two grandchildren. My late husband took me by the hand back to church. He said "I know you miss going there". About five years after my sweet husband died, I moved to live with my mother and take care of her.

Why I am a Mormon

During my life, I went to other churches and studied many religions and spiritual practices. I was prompted to read the Book of Morman as an adult. When I did, I knew, beyond a doubt, that the Jesus Christ I knew from the Holy Bible was the same as the Jesus Christ who came to the American continent after His ressurection. The truth of Joseph Smith having seen Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ was indelibly marked on my heart. The Holy Ghost witnesses the truth of all things. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the Lord's true gospel on earth today. I know that Thomas S. Monson is the Lord's prophet for this day and time. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

I am active in groups that help each other stay sober. I helped facilitate a meeting called the Addiction Recovery Program, it is sponsored by the LDS Family Services. I have served in the leadership of the women's organization in one area that I lived in. I enjoyed playing the piano for the children's meetings as a youth. I now teach the 12 & 13 year old youth. (Or should I say they teach me?) They are so strong in their testimony of Jesus Christ that they want to learn more and more about how to follow Him. I want to tell you that there were a couple of weeks that my mother was sick and staying by herself. That was before I could move to South Florida to be with her. The visiting teachers and home teachers kept an eye on her and brought her meals and checked on her most every day. What a gift I could never repay.
