Hi I'm Darren Rogers

I grew up in Southern California and currently live in the San Francisco area. I am a Morman.

About Me

I was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at age 8 as did my fathers before me. My Great Great Grandmother on my Father's side came across the plains with Mormon settlers to Utah. My Father moved to California his senior year in highschool and then married my Mom and had 7 children. My experience is a little different than most Mormons as I stopped attending church at age 14-31. I wanted to explore the things of the world which at the time seemed exciting and fun. At first the bliss I felt was the new and uncomfortable feelings I you get when you do things that you were always told were wrong or could lead to more worse things. Most experieinces were harmless but overtime my actions were enough for me to lose the companionship of the Spirit of the Lord and Holy Ghost. My actions were not criminal but far enough off the path of rightousnous and lose my way in the gospel of Jesus Christ. Long story short I married my highschool sweet heart at age 21 and then at age 31 we both received promtings, small feelings in your heart, to start attending church once again expecially if we were to start a family. I was ordained to the office of a Preist and baptized my wife in 2007. I have been a member of the church my whole life but have been recently active in church meetings and callings for 5 1/2 years now. It is a pleasure to serve others and share my happiness of being a Mormon with others.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the true teachings of the Gospel of Jesus Christ as He taught in his days on this Earth. I know this due to excercising my Faith that Christ Lives and guides His Church today thru modern day Prophets and Apostles here on Earth Today. Also by the revelation I received before, during and after reading the Book of Mormon and the Holy Bible. Being a Mormon brings me and my Family the happiness we want in our lives that help us thru the Good and Bad times but gives us the path to returning to our Father in Heaven one day.

How I live my faith

Since being active in church I have served as a12-13 year old Sunday School Instructor for 3 years and now am awaiting my next calling in the church. I at times lose my way but know that the Lord paved a path of repentence and given us the ordinence of Sacrament to reknew our baptismal covenents. I do pray often which is a way to communicate with our Heavenly Father and at times receive answers to my prayers thru small promtings from the Holy Ghost. Its not a voice but a burning happiness in my heart to know the right ways I should live my life.
