Hi I'm Kjersten

I'm a student, a wife, and I'm a mormon.

About Me

I'm currently a student attending BYU-Idaho. I spend all my time with my best friend, my husband. We are newlyweds who are learning to balance school, work and family time. We love to watch new shows together and learn how to cook together. We are truly thankful to have the gospel in our lives.

Why I am a Mormon

I truly believe the teachings of the church. I am thankful for the gospel in my life and the opportunity to married in the temple. I'm thankful for the opportunities I have had in my life to gain greater faith in the Savior. I feel I gained my testimony greatly during my youth. I took advantage of all the activities provided by the church, that helped me learn who I was and what I believed. I specifically remember times my last years of high school when I was struggling, not with my testimony just with life in general. But in those hard times I had some of my first real spiritual experiences. I remember receiving personal revelation regarding which university to attend after high school, and feeling the comfort of the spirit in very stressful times. These experiences really strengthened me and my testimony of the gospel. I believe that I was able to have these great experiences because I was trying my best to make the right choices in my life, like by regularly attending all church meetings, avoiding all drugs and alcohol, and keeping the law of chastity.

How I live my faith

I feel that although at one point in my life I might be the strongest I have ever been in my faith, I must work to keep my faith and to progress. If I don't try my best everyday to grow closer to the Savior, it will be harder for me to overcome the adversary. This is why I have truly tried to live the gospel. I'm trying my best at living the gospel by studying my scriptures, praying, and trying my best to serve others and be kind to others. I have been given many opportunities in my life to serve others. Through visiting teaching and my help in youth activities as a young-adult, I have learned of the love the Lord has for all his children. I feel that in all my opportunities to serve I have been able to see others in the eyes of the Lord because I have learned to love others and see their unique qualities. By serving I also have increased my faith in the Lord, by coming closer to him. I have also learned that by living my beliefs, I can strengthen those around me.

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Kjersten
Yes, marriages and families can last forever. We believe that when we are married in the temple, we can be together as a family beyond this life. This is a great source of comfort when a family member has passed, because we know that someday we can be together again. This is a great source of happiness for me, to know that my husband and I will be together forever. Show more Show less

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Kjersten
I think there is some much evidence that there is a God. I look outside and I'm just amazed at the beauty of the earth. And the beauty of a newborn child. It is so amazing our lives here on earth. I believe that the creation of earth and of man could not have come without God. It makes no sense to me how all this could have happened just by chance. I truly believe there is a purpose to all this and it is according to God's plan. Show more Show less
