Hi I'm Jeff

I love basketball, volleyball, and soccer. I'm currently serving a mission in Barcelona, Spain. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I have 4 older sisters and 1 brother, all of whom have always been great examples to me. I have 2 wonderful parents who love me. I grew up in San Antonio, Texas, and now live in the Cleveland, Ohio area. I love to help others and love my family. I'm currently a student at Brigham Young University, with hopes of majoring in Business Management. I'm pretty much always happy and making people laugh is what I do best!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in the Church, but like all, had to find my own testimony of the gospel. Up until I was about 14, I went to church, read my scriptures, and prayed because that had always been what my parents told me was the right thing to do. Like most teenagers nowadays, I had somewhat of a struggle in the search for who I was and how I was valued as a person and as a son of God. As I more steadily did the things that my parents had always told me to do and really decided to take control of my own testimony, I learned little by little that everything that I had learned growing up was true. Everything that I had been told my entire life was the truth. I had a Father in Heaven and a Savior who loved me unconditionally and with their help, I can overcome whatever challenges I face in life and one day, by obedience to the simple commandments they've given me, return to live in their presence with my family for eternity. I had always been told it was true, but it wasn't until I decided to find out for myself that I received a sure witness that it all was.

How I live my faith

I try to be an example of Christ in my everyday life, especially while serving a mission. I love to share my testimony of my Savior with people and I enjoy helping to improve the lives of others through service and through being an example of His teachings. Although I (like everyone) have had struggles and problems in life, I take comfort in knowing that through the power of the atonement of Jesus Christ I can continually become better today than I was yesterday. I love the gospel and am so grateful for the opportunity that I have to share its amazing message with the people of Spain!

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

No! We believe that all people are children of a Heavenly Father who loves each of us dearly. The Savior in His earthly ministry taught that we must serve everyone, no matter the circumstance. Jesus Christ ministered to everyone regardless of who they were or what they had done. We strive to follow His example and try to do the same. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about the nature of God?

God is our Eternal Father, who loves each of us perfectly and individually. There is nothing that your Father in Heaven wants more than for us to be happy. Nothing at all. He created a plan for us, called the Plan of Salvation or the Plan of Happiness. We lived with Him before this earth life, where we chose to come to earth and receive a body. We are able to make our own choices and if we choose to follow Him and His commandments, we will one day return to live with Him, which was our greatest desire before we came to earth.
