Hi I'm Mariah

I'm a Mother to a beautiful Artistic Daughter, a handsome Autistic Son, a wife to an Air Force Officer. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I love to cook and try new recipes. I joke that one day when I grow up (what that really means is when my kids grow up) I want to go to culinary school and open my own catering business. I also love to run. I find it peaceful and get lost in thought as the miles go beneath my feet. Another thing that brings me great joy is doing things with my children. My daughter is very creative and helps offset my not so creative self. My son was recently diagnosed with Autistic Disorder and I am eagerly learning about this Disorder and how best to help my son reach his full potential. Some days I feel like a glorified taxi service but I would not have it any other way. I learn so much from both my children and am grateful for the lessons learned. I also love animals although I have yet to figure out what type of animal (dog or cat) and what subtype of animal (rag doll cat, keeshound, golden doodle, etc...)would work best in our family. On a free Saturday when I don't have the kids I enjoy going to dog shows and have recently learned that they do cat shows and am interested in going to one.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it is true! My parents both joined this faith when they were in their youth and I was raised in this Church. I have served a mission for my church where I spent time sharing my faith with anyone who is interested in learning of our religion. I have no grand moment in my life where I can point to and say this is when I knew it was true. But I DO KNOW this is Jesus Christ's Church restored on this earth by a Prophet of God.

How I live my faith

I attend church on Sundays and work with the young women ages 12 - 18 yrs old. I also assist one night a week with activities for these same young women. When I am not working with the youth I enjoy visiting with the different ladies in our congregation. I get together with a few of the women in our congregation once a month to share gospel lessons. I look forward to these visits as we draw strength from each other. Personal scripture study also strengthens my faith. Prayer helps me draw closer to my Father in Heaven. Service to others keep me humble and on the path of discipleship.
