Hi I'm Trista

I'm a violinist. I love family and friends. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love life. I especially love being with the family and friends. I have four younger siblings who are my good buddies. I am so close with my Mom, and we always say we are kindred spirits. My Dad inspires me to learn because he is constantly reading. I LOVE playing the violin. I have played the violin since I was three, and I still can't get enough of it! I am currently majoring in violin perfomrance. I enjoy going snowboarding with my family, playing tennis, hiking, being outside, and hanging out with friends. I am currently nannying six kids and learning lots. I have learned everything from which brand of chicken nuggets is the most tasty to why you never go anywhere with out a passifier.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it is true. It is as simple as that for me. I know the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true because I have felt feelings of peace as I have gone to the temple and church meetings that cannot be duplicated elsewhere. I feel that peace as I continue to live my life the best I can. I have felt the spirit confirming to me of the truthfulness of the gospel as I have read the Book of Mormon. I am a Mormon because no amount of amusement parks, dream vacations, or other pursuits of happiness can replace the lasting happiness I feel from trying to keep the commandments and build a relationship with my Heavenly Father. I know Heavenly Father created us, and He knows us better than we know ourselves. He knows what will make us truly happy, and I know as I try my best to follow the plan of salvation that I can be truly happy.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by accepting callings. I am the young single adult home evening coordinator. I plan a get together every Monday night for the young single adults to have fun and make friends with people who have their same values. I try to pray for guidance to know what activities would help people want to come, have fun, and feel included. I also live my faith by having daily prayer and scripture study. I feel that as I do these things I am able to feel the spirit more in my life. I try and follow the spiritual promptings by finding quiet time to ponder and then acting on my feelings even when I cannot see the end of the road. I try to become more like my Savior, Jesus Christ by making personal goals and working towards them.

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Trista
You can come to know your Father in Heaven just like you come to know other people. You need to reserve TIME for Him before the business of life takes over. This is the most important relationship you can work on is your relationship with your Creator. You can pray to Him often and read about Him in the scriptures. In the Bible Dictionary it says under faith that "The Lord has revealed himself and his perfect character, possessing in their fulness all the attributes of love, knowledge, justice, mercy, unchageableness, power, and every other needful thing, so as to enable the mind of man to place confidence in him without reservation." I have come to know different attributes of my Father in Heaven through reading the scriptures, but also through the spirit that I feel as I read the scriptures. Show more Show less
