Hi I'm Jared

I was born and raised in Utah. I served a mission in England. I am a football official in the WAC

About Me

I am married and have 5 children and 6 grandchildren. I love sports and working with young people. I enjoy spending time with family and working on projects at our ranch property. I am an NCAA Football Official currently working in the WAC. I have been involved in officiating several college bowl games and loved the people I worked with. I worked for many years with at risk youth in residential treatment and had a lot of great activities and experiences. I have also done a lot of personal security including training of security details for heads of state in Africa. I built my own home and have assisted my family in many building projects. I like to garden and enjoy the produce I get from that effort. My goal is to serve a mission with my wife in the near future.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in an LDS home and at the age of fifteen (15) was questioning what my parents believed. My mother told me to go and find out for myself if this church was true. I packed up some supplies in a backpack and after being dropped off at the bottom of a local trail-head by my mother hiked into the mountains where I spent the next few days reading the Book of Mormon and praying about it. I felt good but was still unsure until I was praying in earnest and felt a warmth and calm and the thought came to my mind, " You have always known that this is true." I remembered all of the times in my life to that point where I had been blessed and knew that those blessings came from God. My Testimony was increased and forever changed because I knew that I had my answer and it was real.

How I live my faith

I believe that America was established by God as a place where his church could be restored after the original church Christ set up was lost from the Earth. I believe that we are accountable to God for the choices we make in our life. Because of that belief I enjoy my service with the youth of the church and have served as the Stake Young Men President and as the advancement chairman for the local district of Boy Scouts of America. I Served a Mission in the England Bristol Mission and met many wonderful people there. I have served as 1st and 2nd counselor in a Bishopric and as a member of the Stake High Council in two different Stakes.
