Hi I'm Brian McIlwain

I like programming, school, bands, weight-lifting, meal-time, and reading. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in November of 1992. I spent the first 6 years of my life in BC, Canada, then moved to Louisianna for 13 years. I'm going to college with a major in Computer Engineering (or Software Engineering, not sure). I was in the college band my first semester playing Mellophone (marching French Horn). I was also in many bands (marching, jazz, and concert) throughout High School. I enjoy band. I also (mostly) enjoy school, especially when I'm able to study and learn what I want. I also love programming, reading, working out, eating ...

Why I am a Mormon

Why I'm a Mormon..hmm.. well, my parents are LDS as well, but I can't say that I've always believed. I suppose that I started to believe that this Church it actually true just before I started High School. I spent some time in a Baptist school, and was constantly asked what I believed and why I believed it. I decided that I needed to figure that out. From here on out, my story is probably the same as hundreds: I read and prayed about the Book of Mormon. It helped bring my closer to Jesus Christ. Most importantly, God the Father answered my prayers, and I received a personal confirmation that it is true. Because of this, I know that the Book of Mormon is true. The man that translated it, Joseph Smith, was a prophet of God. I continue to read the Book of Mormon daily, as I do with the Bible. They testify of the same Christ. I have strengthened my relationship with Him trough this habit. Try it.

How I live my faith

So right now I'm on a 2 year service mission for the LDS (Mormon) church, serving in California in the Spanish launguage. I spend my time telling people about our church's unique message to the world. I've never done anything so rewarding in my life. I love it. What's the message?
