Hi I'm Alex

I was born in Omaha, Nebraska. I was raised just outside of Washington D.C. I love playing basketball. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love playing basketball. I played a few years in high school but after an injury I now just play for fun. I love hanging out with my friends. I have two brothers and a sister. I am an uncle. I am currently serving my mission in Phoenix Arizona.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the church for a few reasons. Although I was born in the church, I never felt really connected to it. I partcipated in the activities and went to church most Sundays but something was always missing. When it came time for me to start thinking about going on a mission I wasn't really planning on going. Luckily I had some friends in college who really helped me realize what I was missing, a testimony. Through their testimonies I gained the confidence to grow my own testimony and go on a mission. Since being on my mission, my testimony has grown so much and there is no way I will go back to the way I used to act. I love this church and I have found so much peace and comfort through the Gospel. I love my Savior and I love being a Mormon. One thing that really helped me was an analogy that I heard about testimonies. Gaining a testimony is different for everyone. For some people it is like turning on a light in a room. They gain their testimony by a single event or faster than others. For other people they get a testimony like the rising Sun. It takes a little longer and it grows through several small events. My testimony came more like the Sun.

How I live my faith

Everyday I live my faith because right now I am a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Although I am far from perfect, I try my best to do what Christ would do and to be what Christ wants me to be. I try to be an example to those around me by trying to do what is right in the eyes of our Father in Heaven.
