Hi I'm Michael Masterson

I grew up in West Point, Utah. I am the second oldest of five children.

About Me

I grew up in a rural area of Utah with my three brothers and older sister. We enjoyed building forts, exploring, and riding our bikes everywhere. When I graduated from High School I served a mission for my church for two years in British Colombia, Canada. Upon returning I attendeded college and I just recently graduated with a bachelors in biology. I decided to pursue dentistry as a career and I have just recently started dental school. I was married in December of 2010 and my wife and I are expecting our first child in the next couple months. We are both very excited and looking forward to what life has in store for us.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the mormon faith and developed a love and testimony of its truthfullness in my youth. I was blessed to have good examples around me that helped me to learn and understand about God. Around the time when I was about to be baptized I remeber that I wanted to read the scriptures, particularly the Book of Mormon, and pray about it to see if it was true for myself. As I read the scriptures over the course of a few weeks I began to feel the spirit of God testify to me that what I was reading was true. I didn't understand everything that I read but I felt warm and peaceful and began to feel that what I was reading was true. I was baptized and as time has gone on the more that I've learned about the church the more I've felt those same feelings telling me what I've learned is true. Another reason I am a Mormon is that I see that blessings that have come into my life from living the teachings of Christ. When I look at other people's lives and see the challenges they face I realize how much I have been blessed and protected as a result of the Gospel of Christ and his church.

How I live my faith

I have tried to live my faith by participating actively in my church and reaching out to those around me. As a youth I was involved in many church sponsored service projects. After I graduated high school I decided to go on a full time mission for my church to British Colombia, Canada. While I was there I had many opportunties to serve other such as working in a soup kitchen, tutoring elementary kids, as well as teaching people about Christ and his gospel. Recently I have had the opportunity to serve as a childrens teacher in our church sunday school.
