Hi I'm Drew Jex

I grew up in Highland, UT and I love the outdoors. I am currently serving a mission in Bangkok, Thailand. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently a missionary in the Thailand Bangkok mission. I enjoy a variety of activities, including tennis, soccer, sports in general, playing the piano, composing music, the outdoors, and computers. I attended college for two semesters before my mission and my current major is Computer Science. I have a great family who are all strong in the gospel and who have supported me in my decision to serve a mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I continue to be a member of this church simply because of the happiness it brings me. I have found that consistent obedience to God's commandments is what brings me joy because I know that what I am doing is right. I also love the feeling Holy Ghost when I obey. When I feel those wonderful feelings of peace and a greater desire to do good, I know it is the Holy Ghost testifying to me the truthfullness of this gospel. I feel an increased love for everyone. I feel happier. I want to serve others and be the best person I can possibly be. I have also found that one of the best ways to invite the Holy Ghost is by reading the Book of Mormon with a desire to learn about the gospel. I love reading about the wonderful examples of ancient prophets who had firm, unshakable testimonies in Jesus Christ. When I read from the Book of Mormon, I feel an appreciation for all those in history who have been persecuted for Christ's sake. As I read these stories, I can feel the Spirit's presence and I have a greater desire to be good and to obey. Whenever I feel discouraged, I think back to those wonderful spiritual experiences I've had with the Book of Mormon and I am reminded at the love Heavenly Father has for me and all his children. I know that He loves all His children and wants them to be happy. I have felt that love in my own life through the Holy Ghost and through obedience to the commandments I know that this Church is true simply because I am happy. I am excited to help others feel this same joy as I share the gospel in Thailand.

How I live my faith

I have served in my ward through music, teaching, and leadership positions. Being able to play the piano for a variety of different church activities and invite the Spirit into the meetings has been a great opportunity. I also enjoy the times I get to teach and share my own testimony about the truths of the gospel. I have found that teaching increases my faith. I am grateful for the times when I get to serve others through a calling of leadership in the church. These callings require increased effort on my part, but they have proven to be a blessing in being able to touch the lives of others through dedicated service.
