Hi I'm Sister Watkins

I'm a sister missionary in Tahiti...a lover of people, outdoors, stars, mountains..and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a missionary in the Tahiti Pape'ete mission. I am the oldest of six kids in my family. I love my family. I love all of my wonderful and supportive friends. I love doing activities such as running and especially hiking. I love to make memories and try new things. I am five foot nothing, and that is a blessing! I love to play tennis. I love to play the harmonica. I love art history. I love the french language. I love to teach. I love to sew. I love to sing. I love the sun. I love the beauty of the earth. I love to travel and hope to travel all around the world. I love thrift shopping. I love meeting new people and just enjoying life. I love the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. It brings me the most happiness in my life and just enhances everything that I love to do. It makes life worthwhile and worth living!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of how happy it makes me feel. I always feel comfort from the gospel and I'm in love with everything about it. It helps me to feel of my worth and always have a positive attitude. It just feels so right, and I hope everyone will be able to have a chance to feel what that's like. I know with everything that I have that this church is true. This church brings never ending happiness into my life. I am a Mormon because I love my Savior and everything that He has done for me and I want to become more like Him. I know that the power of this gospel will show itself to us if we simply pray and find out for ourselves. I know that the power of prayer is such a real thing. I promise there is someone listening when you pray. I know that we do have a God that loves me and knows me personally. I know that God did speak to Joseph Smith. I know that Christ lives, and will act as our advocate and friend in this life. I know this gospel is eternal and that I can see my Father in Heaven again. I love my Father in Heaven and I know He loves me.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by taking advantage of all the amazing opportunities for happiness that the gospel offers every single day. I have made the decision to devote 18 months of my life to fully serving the Savior by serving a mission in Tahiti! I read the Book of Mormon and other scriptures, to help and direct me. I serve others through my love for them and through callings that the church has given to me. I love everything about this church and I'm very involved in all the many opportunities that it has given me.

Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon Temples? What goes on in Mormon Temples?

Sister Watkins
It is a privilege to enter the holy temple. There are certain standards that the Lord has set in order for you to do so. The Lord and leaders of the church today invite all of us to "come to the temple, claim your blessings." But we need to be worthy in order to do so. In the temple, Church members participate in ordinances designed to unite their families together forever and help them return to God. Temple work is not secret, it's just sacred. Show more Show less
