Hi I'm Mary-Theresa

I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am a graduate of Southern Virginia University, a small LDS-based Liberal Arts school located in the Shanandoah Valley of Virginia. I majored in political science, and plan on moving to D.C. to work after i serve an 18 month mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Tucson, Arizona. I love cooking, walking, reading, and spending time with friends and family. I am passionate about travel, learning, and the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into this church, but that is not the reason I have chosen to be an active member in it. I love the gospel of Jesus Christ. I love the knowledge that my family can be together forever. I love the peace I feel as I read the scriptures, particularly the Book of Mormon. I know that Joseph Smith was a Prophet, that he truly saw God the Father and His son Jesus Christ, because I have prayed about it and felt the peace only He can bring. Life isn't easy- it isn't perfect. But with the knowledge of where I came from, why i'm here, and where i'm going, I am able to feel a joy and peace that I know nothing but this gospel- the restored gospel of Jesus Christ- can bring.

How I live my faith

I have been blessed to serve the women in my local congregations at church for several years now. This included teaching lessons and planning activities. However, I believe the best way to live your faith, is to always live it! I try to live what I learn, and love the way I live. I believe in treating others the way I want to be treated, and in always having a positive attitude and smile on my face. I am currently living my faith by being a full-time missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I have loved every minute of it!
