Hi I'm Datu81

I'm a Mormon

About Me

Married with three kids, currently residing in Savannah Georgia. I was born in Olongapo City, Philippines. I moved here to the states, (San Diego, California) with my parents when I was a young teenager. I've been a member all my life. I was in the medical field for a while, then worked for the airlines for 13 years. I've been practicing mixed Martial Arts and competing since I was a young six year old boy. I like to go running, work out and lift weights. All things out door. My father is an Aboriginal Negrito from Mt. Pinatubo. He is the founder of the Jungle Enviornmental Survival Training (JEST), for the US Military in Subic Naval Base in Philippines, (bound for the Vietnam War), back in 1960. He taught survival till 1992. I trained beside him growing up.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born a Mormon. My father was introduced by Brother and Sister Martineau back in the Philippines. They shared the gospel and the Book of Mormon to my father back in 1958. They brought him to church every Sunday inside the US Naval Base. My dad was convinced of the truth of the church and was baptized. Ever since then me and my siblings were going to church. I remember growing up in the 80's we were attending sacrament and classes in a small village, since there was no church established. There was about 7 families attending church at the time. The family of seven eventually grew and they finally built a church in the late 1980's. Everyone was happy, we had a two story chapel. The church is the New Cabalan Ward, in Olongapo City, Philippines. I loved going to church. It amazed me how the ward grew bigger and bigger and till this day still going strong. It grew from hundreds to thousands. And even have two temples now. One in Vasaya and the other one in Manilla. It makes me happy that the truth of the church spreads to more and more people each day.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being humble. I live everyday with prayers and put my trust in Heavnly Father. I am grateful of my blessings and always remember why I continue to be thankful of my faith.
