Hi I'm Ben

I grew up in Utah. Hablo espanol. Soy misionaro. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy playing many different sports. Some of my favorites include basketball, soccer, and rugby. I also enjoy biking and skateboarding, though, I'm not really good at skateboarding. I'm trying though! I'm currently on a mission and took a year of college. I come from a large family of siblings younger than me. I come from a medical family (doctors, surgical technicians, and physical therapists) and I love the atmosphere of hospitals and the medical profession. In college, currently doing generals, but when I return from my mission, focusing on majoring in English/Spanish and then going into the college medical program and focusing on Anesthesiology or Surgeon. Woo Hoo!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in this church. I've never had another faith, but I haven't needed another one to know that this is the true gospel of Christ and is His Church. I'm a member because, at first, my mom made me go to church growing up. I would go, but sometimes not for myself. I would go to make my mom happy. I became older and I really started to come to the points in my life where I need to make a decision on who I was going to become or who I was going to be. I knelt down one Saturday evening and just poured my soul out and wanted to know if what I was doing in my life was correct or even good. Well, needless to say, I didn't receive an answer that night. I went to the next Sunday meeting, which was just a normal meeting for everyone else, but I went with that question that night. In the middle of Sacrament meeting, I was just overcome with the this sense of peace, love and reassurance that this is where I needed to be and that I would know what I needed to do. The entire time I was singing in my head "Be Still My Soul" and that has always been, and always will be, my favorite hymn. This Gospel is for everyone. Jesus Christ, many different times in the scriptures, says "Come unto me." We need to do just that. Allow Christ into your life and let His saving Atonement heal the hardships in your life. I am so grateful for the Gospel in my life. This is why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I did service work in my home ward, like helping rake leaves, shovel snow, mow lawns, and helping with anything that needs help with. I'm an Eagle Scout and love the entire program. When hometeaching, I would help with the stuff mentioned above and I've helped some families move or clean up after storms or other similar activities. I was a ward missionary before I left on my mission and was responsible for the gospel doctrines class. I'm currently serving a mission.

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

Ben
I believe by the pure Love that Christ has for the people of the earth that they now have the ability to return to Him because of His atonement. I believe that we need to show our willingness and obedience through our actions because faith, without works, is dead. So for me, I believe that Christ has given me a chance to return to Him and I must act and prove through obedience that I want to, which is Faith, Repentence, Baptism (or renewing the covenant), Gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end.
