Hi I'm Luke Nelson

I grew up in Seattle. I'm a BYU student. I'm serving as a Missionary in Cambodia. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am 20 years old. I come from a family of six . I'm the second oldest of 4 boys. I am very close to my family, I love them very much. I've grown up in Seattle my whole life. I went to a private Catholic school for my senior year of High School. I attended Brigham Young University for 2 semesters before leaving on my mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because of my Savior Jesus Christ. It is through His example and teachings that I have found peace and happiness. Throughout my life I have felt of my Heavenly Fathers love for me as an individual. Throughout life we will all encounter problems, hardships and trials. With Jesus Christ at the center of my life I am able to learn and grow through struggles and become the man that my Heavenly Father wants me to be. I am a Mormon because I know with all of my heart that Christ restored His church in our day through a latter day prophet. He still leads and Directs his church. I know that through obedience to Gods Commandments we can come closer to Him and eventually return to his presence with our families.

How I live my faith

Right now I'm serving a volunteer mission for the Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints in the Cambodia Phnom Penh Mission. I love the people here very much. I couldn't be more thankful for their examples of faith and charity. As a missionary we spend most of our time teaching about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We also spend several hours a week doing community service. Being a missionary is a unique experience. It offers a rare opportunity to become familiar with the Cambodian culture/people on a very personal level. It has completely changed my outlook on the world and my priorities in my life.
