Hi I'm Shaylon Forbes

Raised in St. George with good family and friends, and a whole lot of laughs. #I'mAMormon.

About Me

I was raised in St. George, Utah. Favorite past-times include basketball, sand volleyball and hikes. I am a missionary right now in the Alabama Birmingham Mission. When I go home, I look forward to getting back into school at Utah Valley University. My favorite things are being outdoors, hanging with my family, playing table games, drinking hot chocolate, and eating lots of peanut butter. I firmly believe in singing at the top of my lungs on a Saturday night with my friends. I try to make every situation a positive one. Life is so great and if we miss the beauty and fun of it, we miss it all! I love the south, and most importantly, I love being a Mormon!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church with two loving parents that always made the Gospel of Jesus Christ first in our home. Being born into the Church definitely influenced me early on but eventually I had to come to the decision for myself that everything they were teaching me is true. I still remember one experience in particular that happened when I was 15 years old. No big lights or flashing signs that said, "This is the Church". But rather, a quiet and overpowering sense of peace. I knew that He was there and that He loves me. I know that He lives.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith in a way that it can help others better their lives. I try to follow Jesus Christ with my words and my actions. I'm certainly not perfect, but I can honestly say I give it my best effort.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Shaylon Forbes
No, we try to follow the example of service set by the Savior Jesus Christ. Therefore, we help and serve all of God's children. We are all in this together, so we might as well help each other while we are at it. Show more Show less

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Shaylon Forbes
No, we respect what he did as a Prophet, but we don't worship him. We worship our Heavenly Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Simple as that. Show more Show less
