Hi I'm Jason

I was baptized in Kitimat BC and have been a member for 33 years. I now live in Western Canada

About Me

I am the dad of 4 children including a set of triplets. I like reading and hiking in the mountains near here. I've been a Teacher, Funeral director and worked in Finance. I love a challenge and get bored easily.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the church because it gives me peace and joy. It is not always easy to belong to a church that truly teaches what the Lord would have us know and do, however it is really the only way to go. I originally had a testimony of the word of wisdom because I believe it is importance to protect and nuture the body Heavenly Father has given us. It was just common sense. As I met with the missionaries, everything they taught me was as if I had already known it, or believe it. I had questions and the Gospel had simple, straightforward answers. I am still amazed that I have found what so many people are still looking for.

How I live my faith

I have always loved serving in the church. I remember at first it was intimidating however as you really absorb the spirit of the calling (job) you've been asked to preform it makes it a lot easier. Of course knowing that the Lord was the one who inspired the assignment means to me that He knows I can do it.

What is the First Vision?

Jason
The First Vision is the historical record of the experiences of the young boy Joseph Smith. Like so many other people throughout history Heavenly Father spoke to Joseph to answer his questions. In so doing God opened this dispensation (age, era) to continuing revelation. Joseph Smith is regard by members of the church as a Prophet equal to Moses, Abraham, Jacob, Peter, James and John. Heavenly Father has never stopped loving us. He loves us as much now as he did in the times of the Old Prophets. It stands to reason that He would want to give us direction and support. "God is not dead nor doth he sleep." Because of this he spoke to a farm boy who had questions. God the Father and Jesus Christ appeared to the boy Joseph and gave him answers an at the same time re-opened the windows of Heaven to revelation. Throughout his life Joseph, the man, was also an inspired Prophet. He established the church and revealed the Lord's will to all mankind Show more Show less
