Hi I'm Chelsea

I'm a college kid, I'm an amateur musician, and I'm a Mormon! (and I was recently called to serve in the Tahiti Papeete Mission!)

About Me

I was raised by traditional world explorers. I tear out pages of Reader's Digest when I stumble upon a good quote or inspiring article, and I sometimes take the long way home to catch a glimpse of a pretty-hued sky. I dabble around with sounds on the 6-string, but my skills lie on those black and white keys. I enjoy a good laugh and really appreciate a good sense of style. I feel like I will forever be tugged on by the pangs of wanderlust. Also, anything witty or clever is incredible to me. Onto the normals--I am the oldest of five children and love my family. I'm currently on track to majoring in the lovely and beautiful French language: I'm madly in love with it's cadence and culture! I'm also planning to serve a year-and-a-half mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints sometime in the later half of 2013. Edit: I have been called to serve in the Tahiti Papeete Mission speaking Tahitian, reporting on July 24th! My heart is so full of love!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because nothing in this life makes me feel this happy! Honestly. I know with my entire being and my whole soul that this church is true. I've tasted gold, and I'm not going back.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by ensuring that it saturates every element of my life. From my choice of music to the way I talk to others, I believe that it all has a chain reaction, whether we initially recognize it or not. Consequently, living my faith has notably affected the way I dress. I make a conscious effort to dress in a way that is not only stylish, but creates a sense of confidence and emits an aura of knowledge that I am a daughter of God. This fact has carried me through my times of weakness and trouble in my life. I am so grateful to know who I am and long to share with others this vital piece of wisdom. As has been proven many a time before, I've seen that teaching and showing others through example is the most efficient way to show the "ripples" of this gospel--I know that following the commandments given by the Lord through His prophets will ultimately lead to genuine happiness and joy.

What do Mormons believe about the nature of God?

Chelsea
Having lived on the edge of the Bible Belt the latter half of my life, I've often heard that it was positive to "fear God." Being a Christian, if was usually expected for me to have this view, as well. This notion has never sat well with me, however. How could I fear a being that had put a hand on my shoulder when my head hung low? How could I be frightened by the Father that gently carried me up from the deepest of the deep, when my eyes were closed from the thought that I was deemed for utter destruction? God loves us with a love that can never be tainted or conquered by anything. Yes, God is the ruler of the universe and created all things; He is all powerful. Yet, on top of all this, He truly is our Father in Heaven. Show more Show less
