Hi I'm Cyndi

I am from Alabama, USA. I have lived here all of my life, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a single lady. I work as a nurse. I enjoy cooking and being with my friends and family; they mean soooo much to me!

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church. I have never been to any other church, but I have quite a bit of inquiring about other's beliefs. To me, none of the other religions or theological ideas make as much sense as the teachings I have learned from church. I have a friend who is an atheist. He believes that we came from nothing and after we die we return to nothing. What is the point of living then, if its all for naught? It gives me great comfort to know that this life is not all there is, that we have a purpose in life, that we're not just chuncked here with no support and no help. I am very grateful for the knowledge that I always have a Heavenly Father who loves me and is there for me whenever I need Him. Its so comforting knowing that I am never alone and that there is more than just this life.

How I live my faith

I am just a regular old member of my ward (congregation). I listen in church and do personal scripture study at home. My faith plays a major part in my life and the decisions I make. I try (though I don't always succeed) to set a good example for others.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

No, we honor him. He was a prophet. It was through him that Heavenly Father restored his church on Earth. We worship Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, and no one else. Show more Show less

Why do Mormons perform baptisms for the dead?

Its to give the people that passed, that may not have had the opportunity to hear about God and his plan for us, to be baptized. Getting baptized is essential for our salvation, and it wouldn't be fair to offer it to some and not to others. Show more Show less

What is the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon is a book of histories and inspired writings by people that lived in the Americas. It is another testament of Jesus Christ. It lays out Heavenly Father's plan for us and teaches us what we must do and how to live in order to return to live with him. Its teachings go hand-in-hand with the Bible. It concludes with the promise that if you read it and sincerely pray that you can, through the Holy Ghost, know of its truthfulness. Show more Show less
