Hi I'm Tina

I live in the Bay Area in California, I am the only LDS member of my family, I'm a black belt, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am 22 years old. I just graduated with my Bachelors in Health Sciences and am going on to become a Physical Therapist for children. I like to work out, play softball, volleyball-almost all sports!I am the only member of my family who is LDS, I decided to make this decision because after meeting with the Elders, I knew this church was true and I wanted to have eternal life. I was baptized on April 21st, 2012. My father passed away in 2005, and I have my wonderful mother, an older brother and a younger sister- making me the middle child. An interesting fact about myself is that I am a Black Belt in Ishinru Karate, I was the youngest and the first person in my dojo to receive a black belt (I was 13).

Why I am a Mormon

I really love this church, I have only been in the church for a few months now but I have already seen so many blessings come to myself and my family. I notice a positive change in myself, and my friends notice it too. I am able to feel the promptings of the Holy Ghost and live by the Gospel as best I can. I came from a background of not good things, the people I surrounded myself with, the pressure my town put on me, this was the first and only decision in my entire life that I made 100% on my own. And I wouldn't take it back for anything. My biggest fear when thinking about joining the church was, what if my family doesn't like it? What if they do not follow me? Because I REALLY want to be sealed to my family, and so having this not be a family decision was very hard for me. But, I soon realized that if you put Heavenly Father first, even in front of your family.. everything else will fall into place. And it is so true, my mom is now interested in the church because of my positive example. Good things do come, do not deny Heavenly Father because of other peoples opinions on it, if you feel it to be true, then what is stoping you from going all the way? What is stoping you from enduring till the end and having eternal life? This church is nothing but blessings, take it from a recent convert when I say... it is AMAZING.

How I live my faith

I live my faith each and every day by standing up tall and being proud of who I am and who I have become because of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I am able to turn the there cheek when it comes to things that I know I should not be doing, like drinking for example. I learned that there is sooo much in life that we could all do to have a good time. We do not need things like alcohol or other drugs. I also learned to follow and listen to the promptings of the Holy Ghost. When you ignore the spirit, you are only ignoring yourself and your potential to make good decisions. I now live each and every day with a big "IM A MORMON" sticker on my forehead. Not literally of course, but I am saying that I am so sooo soooo proud of who I have become and what Heavenly Father has blessed me with I am thankful to have a wonderful relationship with our Father in Heaven and I know that if I keep his commandments, fast and pray, read my scriptures and love him, he will love me and bless me with wonderful things and eternal life.
