Hi I'm Katherine

I'm a writer, a harpist, and an avid learner. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a graduate in the Humanities and am currently studying for an MA in British Literature. Learning--especially the history, art, and literature that make up our world--has always been an important part of my life. In connection with this, I have toured Europe many times with my family. These experiences have really helped bring us together and guide me as I grew up. I also had the opportunity to live and study in Jerusalem for four months, where my understanding of various cultures, history, and the scriptures was enhanced considerably. Apart from my studies, I have played the harp for nearly a decade and have performed as a soloist and in a trio, ensemble, and (once) in a symphony band, as well as at community events and senior homes. It's a lovely instrument and I'm always happy to share it with others.

Why I am a Mormon

There are so many truths in this gospel that bring joy into my life. There's so much comfort in knowing that there is life after death and that we can be with our loved ones for eternity--that there is always hope. If we turn to him, Christ can help us overcome our weaknesses. I am so grateful for the joy, the peace, and the love I have felt from God. I can't imagine life without it.

How I live my faith

I try, every day, to live my faith with faith. That's the first step, and, when I have faith, the rest of the journey becomes easier and is filled with joy. Everyday life isn't always easy, but I find that it's still wonderful and worth every moment as I progress and become a better person. I live my faith with faith and a remembrance that I am a daughter of a loving God, that He has a plan for me, and that, through Christ's Atonement, I can achieve the potential God sees in me. On a day to day basis, I try to be a good example and a loving friend to the people I meet and to those have come to love. I smile and strive to devote my life to my Father in Heaven, who is lovingly devoted to each of us.
