Hi I'm Tara

I grew up in Utah. I'm the mother of three children. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have grown up in Utah as a Mormon. I was married in the Salt Lake Temple to my best friend and we have been married for 22 years now. I have three children, a son, who is on a mission, a daughter who is about to start cosmetology school, and a daughter who is a Junior in High School. My family is the joy of my life. I love to read, watch movies, and spend time with my family. Our favorite place to go is Disneyland! And we really love to visit San Diego. We also love to play board games or do puzzles as a family. I work at an Elementary school as an aid in the Special Education room. My husband is in the Army National Guard. I absolutely LOVE Christmas! I love to decorate for holidays! I love to read books that are a series so they aren't over too soon. Harry Potter, Hunger Games are favorites. I love animal and we have a little chihuahua that is our family baby. I love nature! I love to listen to water running outside in a stream or waterfall. But above everything else, my family is number one!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. What really keeps me as a member is the focus on family and knowing that we can be together forever. I would say this really hit me when we lost my brother many years ago. It was such a comfort to know that we would see him again. We are only temporarily separated! The temples of our church are such a comfort to me. What peace fills my soul to be there and to do work for family or even strangers that have passed on and didn't have the opportunity here on earth. To seal them to their families for eternity! I love that this church is all about helping others and giving aid to those who are in need. I love that there is a living prophet on the earth today who speaks with God and gives guidance to his children here on earth. Being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in a way of life. It guides my life and brings joy to me. I know that this church is true. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet who restored Christ's church here on the earth. I know that families can be together forever! I know the Book of Mormon is a further witness of Jesus Christ. I love being a Mormon!

How I live my faith

I have had many different callings in my church. I got to work with the youth, particularly the young women in our area for five and a half years. I loved every minute of it! Youth these days have so many struggles and it was a pleasure to help these young people realize their eternal potential and to have the strength to stand up for what they believe in to be modest and moral in all they do. Currently, I work with the cub scouts, specifically the Webelos (10 year old boys). What a different experience than the young women, but they have such a fun energy! It's fun to teach them different skills to help them in life and to be better people. I am a visiting teacher. I visit with a partner a couple women in our neighborhood. I love them all! We have fun getting to know each other, deliver a great message, and help them with anything they may need. I have women who come to visit me as well, and I love their devotion and genuine caring for me. I have worked with little children as well. Teaching them on Sundays. It is very rewarding to fulfill the responsibilites in my church. I've even had the opportunity several times to clean our church building! I love being able to give back and take care of our church building.
