Hi I'm Katie Jensen

I wear a lot of horizontal stripes. I collect vinyl. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi! I'm Katie, but most people call me Kat. I served in the Colorado Fort Collins Mission. I'm 21 and I am from Utah & South Carolina. I want to be a mom someday when I grow up. Music is my life. I play the piano, guitar, ukulele, a little percussion and the vocal chords. I dig a nice jam sesh. You can often find me with my oversized headphones listening to some freak folk. I plan on studying Musicology & Art History. I'm that artsy, pretentious kid that no one liked in high school. I love painting and writing poetry. I love museums and reading contemporary fiction. I really like literary analysis. I like rap music, cats, soft blankets, cuddling, babies, slang, tasteful leopard print and garden salsa sun chips. I dislike rude people, running, pickles, being sad and hot weather. A lot of people say I'm sassy. I love Jesus and I'm a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because I know it is Christ's church on the earth today. I have a strong conviction of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon. I have seen the blessings of the Priesthood in my own life, and I have faith in the doctrine of Christ--particularly the doctrine of repentance. I was a less active member of the church for roughly 8 or 9 years of my life and the Savior and Redeemer of the world helped me to overcome challenges and return into His fold. The happiest times of my life have been when I have participated in church and striven to keep the promises I have made with my Heavenly Father. I have a hard time trusting people, but I know I can ALWAYS trust Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I have had a lot of really tough trials, but I know that God loves me. Being a Mormon helps me to face those trials with greater ease.

How I live my faith

I read my scriptures every day. I pray multiple times a day. I attend church meetings weekly. That might sound like a lot, but those are the things that keep me anchored to the Savior. I LOVE serving others and helping people feel God's love. As a full-time missionary, I worked roughly 12 hours a day for 19 months to help people to come closer to Jesus Christ. Nothing else in my life has ever helped me to live my faith more than my mission.
