Hi I'm Carl Samuelson

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 60 years old, I joined the Church when I was 23. I was the first in my family to join. I was unmarried when I joined, but I have been married 4 times. I am presently very happily married to a wonderful lady named Lynn. We hane been married 6 years. We live in Myrtle Beach, SC. I have 2 sons from my first marrage. they are both in the US navy at present. I am a land surveyor by trade but I am not licenced in SC. I am currently surving in the ward high priest group as an assistant. I like to fish, but I am not very good at it. I like old cars, old motorcycles, I have an 82 Harley. and I love to listen to the Church choir. I still marvel that 37 years ago the spirit voice spoke to me of the truthfulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I still hear it today.

Why I am a Mormon

The Lord let me achive all my little goals I had as a young adult. I wanted money, I wanted girls, I wanted a fast ride. He let me gain all those things before He sent the Missionaries to me. The things I had always wanted, He let me have but they didn't make me happy the way I thought they would. Only then was I ready to listen to the message of the missionaries. The message rang true in my heart, and it still does. On one evening, a morman friend ask me I would stop smoking cigarates. I told him that I didn't think I could. I had seen friends try before, saw the tourture they went thru and I didm't think I was strong enough. He promined me that if I wound ask the Father, in the name of the Savior, for help, that He would help me do it.  Two weeks later, without another word form my friend, I woke up one morning reached for my smokes and found that I had had the last of that pack the nite before. I laid back in my bunk and said OK God I think I want to quit smoking today. That was at 6:00 AM, by 9:30 AM, I didn't want one any more and I have never had one sence. My challenges have not always gone so easily, BUT He answers my prayers, Always. I know IT is true.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by keeping the commandments, serving others, trying to lift up the hands that hang down. You don't have to look very far to find someone that needs your help. Then roll up your sleevs and get to work. The only thing I really have to give the Lord (that HE dosen't already have is my wiling heart). I have worked in Boy Scouts and love the young men. My heart breaks for the dads who don't take EVERY opportunity to be with their boys. Before they know it, the young men will be gone, and thier chance will be gone. Do not miss the chance to help someone when you can.
