Hi I'm Sean Smith

I was born in the Marshall Islands. I longboard in my spare time. I play college football.

About Me

I'm Sean, I grew up in Utah after being born in the Marshall Islands. I grew up playing almost every sport there was to play as a kid, finally settling on football as my absolute love! I was also a state champion wrestler in high school, then I received a college scholarship to play running back at a small junior college called Snow College in central Utah, and I hope to play football when I return from serving the Lord! I'm serving a mission in beautiful British Columbia, I love the people of the Canada Vancouver Mission! Longboarding is one of my favorite things off the field, there's nothing better than a nice long cruise down a long steep hill with nothing but the rushing wind in my ears!

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I found out for myself that it is true. The first time I read the Book of Mormon I knew that "no evil man could write such a book, and no good man would." After praying and asking my Father in Heaven if it is true I felt my Fathers love and I have no doubt in my mind that it is. I know it so deeply that I gave up two years of my life and gave up my college football scholarship to serve a mission in Beautiful British Columbia to tell people about the joy the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints can bring into their lives! I've had the opportunity to watch people change their attitudes, habbits, and whole lifestyles for Jesus Christ and I've sworn to always serve him not only by my own promises to God but by standing in the water and helping others make their promises as well. As you read the Book of Mormon you find that there is an undeviating line of eternal truth contained in the Bible, Book of Mormon, and other Holy Scriptures. If you haven't read it, "JUST DO IT!" -Nike. Then ask the Father in the name of Christ, and the Holy Spirit will manifest the truth of it unto you.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by teaching the kids in our church on Sundays in primary about the people in the Book of Mormon. I also love to talk to my friends who aren't members of our church and tell them why this church can make them happy. I also go with other members of our church to do what we call home teaching and we sit down and visit with families to see how we can strengthen their faith in Jesus Christ and also if there is anything at all we can do for them! I also live in British Columbia I'll be living it up in the beautiful north for two years serving the people and lifting them to enjoy the knowledge of the gospel of Jesus Christ, and what it can do for them and their families. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is truly the way to happiness, and I've found that as I've learned about Christs teachings through studying the scriptures and having intimate personal prayers or conversations with my Father in Heaven. I love being able to pray at anytime and speak one on one with Him.

What does Mormonism teach regarding baptism?

Sean Smith
Baptism is a Commandment of God. Jesus Christ himself was baptized by Priesthood Authority. He went to John the baptist for a reason and it wasn't because they were related. John held the Aaronic Priesthood and Jesus knew it. Therefore he went unto john and was baptized to "fulfill all righteousness." A book of mormon prophet named Nephi expounds on what this means in 2 Nephi 31. Show more Show less
