Hi I'm James

I'm from Deweyville Utah. I love hunting, fishing, sports, and anything else out doors, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm from a small town in northern Utah. Outside is where I feel most at home. Whether it's in a cool mountain canyon at dawn listening to bull elk bugle, or spending an evening fly fishing on my favorite trout stream, the great outdoors is where it's at! As a kid I remember going to my family's favorite lake every summer and trying our best to catch "The Big One".... but being more than happy just catching some nice rainbow trout. As I've grown up, my love for the outdoors has only increased thanks to awesome friends and co-workers. I also love sports. I played football, basketball, and ran track in high school. Football definitely takes the cake for being my favorite. In my opinion, there's no sport out there that depends so heavily on everyone doing their part to help the team succeed. I love the life lessons that can be learned on the "Grid iron", and in all sports for that matter. I'm currently serving a 2 year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Canada Edmonton Mission. I love being in the work of the lord! The joys that come from seeing someone choose to follow Jesus Christ, far outweigh anything else that I've experienced in my life. Yes, even better than catching a lunker, or scoring a game winning touch down.

Why I am a Mormon

To me, being a member of the church just makes sense. I was raised in the church by two wonderful parents, and have had it's influence in my life since day one. However, being raised in the church doesn't mean I automatically knew the church was true. The reason I know it's true is simple, I've read the Book of Mormon, and prayed to know if it's true, and I've received my answer. That's why I'm a Mormon. The recipe is the same for anyone else out there. Read the Book of Mormon with real intent, a sincere heart, and faith in Jesus Christ, and you will receive an answer that it's true through the Holy Ghost.

How I live my faith

My whole life I've done my best to live as a good representative of Jesus Christ. In my attempt to do so I have been far from perfect, but that's why the Gospel of Jesus Christ is so amazing. Christ provides a way for us to turn our weaknesses into strengths. He can make up where we lack, and give us help when we're down. I've needed his help countless times throughout my life, and need it now more than ever! I'm currently serving a mission for the LDS church in Canada. We as missionaries have only one purpose while we serve for these two years, and that is "To invite other's to come unto Christ....." I try to do my best to fulfil that purpose. We talk to everyone who's willing to listen about the Gospel of Jesus Christ, on the street, in their homes, or on their front door step. Our hope is that people are simply willing to listen to the message that we have to share,( namely that Christ's true church has been restored to the earth) and then pray and ask God if our message is true. It's as simple as that. Being a missionary has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my entire life. It's brought me closer to Jesus Christ and my Heavenly Father. I know of no better way to try and live my faith than to share it with others.
