Hi I'm Roger W. Nelson

I grew up in Ohio attended college in Georgia where I meet my wife and joined the LDS church.

About Me

I am a chemical engineer who enjoy playing tennis, pack packing and working on cars and houses

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because as a college student I prayed to find out if the Book of Mormon was true and if Joseph Smith was a prophet I did not get a resounding "yes" answer but I felt good and had peace as I ponder the principles taught by the missionaries. I was baptized at the age of 21 and went on to serve a mission in Utah. As I have lived the teaching taught by our prophets these past several years, I have come to know that this church is the restored church of Jesus Christ and that happiness and joy comes through obeying the teachings of Christ which are the teachings of this church.

How I live my faith

As a member of the LDS church, I have the responsibility to teach 11 year old boys the principles of Scouting. We have weekly meeting where we learn skills associated with camping, citizenship, and helping others. The most enjoyable times is seeing this boys get excited learning about the outdoors and appreciate the world created for them by or Heavenly Father. May be all have the innocence and trust of an 11 year old Scout.
