Hi I'm Chris

I was born and raised in Illinois. I'm a missionary. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love computers. I have fun playing games on them, I write software for them, I break them, I fix them, I defend them and I legally attack them. I also have fun playing with electronics, hanging out with friends, playing with dogs, and just finding relaxing stuff to do after a long day of work. Right now though I'm serving a mission in the Massachusetts Boston Mission and I absolutely love it! Its more fun than anything I've ever done before!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it truly makes me happy. As a member of this church I know that no matter what life throws at me, no matter who I have (or don't have) around me I am not alone. I have a loving Father in Heaven who I know for a fact I can trust completely with my life, as I know He wants the best for me. I enjoy this religion because no matter where I go, I know there will be others like me there, that will help me and allow me to help them. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is wonderful, their works are wonderful and I'm proud to be a part of it. Being on a mission I've had the chance to see God's hand in my life and in the lives of others. I'm a Mormon because I know its true and I know that the Church of Jesus Christ teaches the doctrine we need to truly be happy.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be a happy person, I know that as trials come in my life it is through my personal faith in Christ and the atonement that help me through it. I try to show that in how I deal with problems in my personal and professional life. In the past I've had a chance to organize and plan weekly activities for a group of fellow college students in my area to help us bond together so we can support one another for years to come.

Why do Mormons perform proxy baptisms in their temples?

We have been taught that one of the first essential steps to receive salvation is to be Baptized. However, there have been and are great number of people that simply have not had a chance to be accept the Gospel of Christ and be baptized, even if they would have accepted the opportunity. Because of this we have a chance to go to a Temple where we are baptized in their place. They are not forced to accept it, they are simply given a chance to accept what they did not have an opportunity to accept during their lifetime. Show more Show less

Are there restrictions based on race or color concerning who can join The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and have the priesthood?

There are no restrictions on who may or may not join this great church. Quite the opposite is actually true, we search the globe looking for those who would accept these beliefs, we look for them in nearly every country regardless of race, color, or gender. The priesthood however is an opportunity only extended to worthy men, but it is not kept from individuals based on color or nationality. Women are not excluded from the benefits of the priesthood however. All across the globe are members of the Priesthood waiting anxiously to bless the lives of every person they can. How do I become a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon Church)?

Ask the missionaries! Haha! But more seriously, you first need to have a desire to come closer to Christ by learning of him and at least wanting to follow his example. Then you need to reach out to a Mormon that lives near you and tell them that you'd like to learn more about the church. They will set up meetings with our missionaries that can teach you the things you need to know about being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. As you listen to the missionaries you can gain your own personal testimony or belief that what we teach is true. Then, when your ready to make a promise with God to follow his teachings by serving others and obeying his commandments you'll be ready to be baptized. When you make this promise with God through baptism you'll be able to start experiencing the true happiness that comes from being a disciple of Christ. Show more Show less
