Hi I'm Courtney

I'm a BYU student, lover of all things related to Fall, & I'm a Mormon!

About Me

Hi there, I'm Courtney. I'm a convert to the Church, baptized when I was 11. I was born and raised in Texas, but ever since attending Brigham Young University, I've consider Utah to be my home. I'm 22 years old and I am studying graphic design. I love photography and basically anything that has to do with art or design, joy rides in the car, spontaneous adventures, meeting new people, and helping and serving others in any way that I can. I just recently returned home from serving a mission in Toronto Canada!

Why I am a Mormon

As a young child, I grew up in a home where religion did not play a role in our lives. When I was a little older, I was introduced to the Gospel and it gave me something to finally establish a foundation upon. At first, I didn't know what it was about this Church that was so different and good, but it brought stability to my life and comfort to my 10-year old heart. Some time after being baptized, I began to develop my own testimony. I realized that no matter what we go through in this life, our Savior Jesus Christ is right there with us and our Father in Heaven loves us more than we can comprehend. I know that we experience specific trials that are tailored to our individual needs because we are strong and capable enough to handle whatever may come upon us. Because of this gospel, I know that I have a purpose and that there is a plan for each of us. This is a gospel of truth, light, and hope and I'm so grateful that I have been blessed to be apart of it.

How I live my faith

Other than serving as a ful-time missionary, I have fulfilled callings in which I have been President, Teacher, and Supervisor of various groups of youth and young adults and my previous calling was ward Photographer in my young single adult ward. Through such callings, and by simply just being a member, I have learned the significance of our divine nature and potential as sons and daughters of God. Whether I was holding a calling or not, though, I have come to realize that serving our fellow brothers and sisters is so important because it gives us the opportunity to love the way Christ loves. I strive everyday to be be a good example by living what I believe and by being of service to others by being aware of their needs. Love should always be what drives our actions. I want to serve others and invite them to come unto Christ because I love them.
