Hi I'm Trever Joy

I'm a Mormon. I'm from Novi, Michigan and am the oldest of three. I'm fresh out of highschool and am looking forward to college.

About Me

I'm fresh out of highschool and I am now figuring out what I want to do in life. I'm going to college pretty soon and I hope I can find what I'm looking for and that it will make me happy. I like to do outside recreational activities such as boating, camping and sports. Especially boating because I love to wakeboard and water ski and I hope to improve my skills greatly. I love to help other people and love to give service to others. I really enjoyed being a scout because of this and am proud to say that I am an Eagle Scout.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church and I've always had my parents examples to follow. I always felt good about going to church and the history of the church especially visiting the sites of the early mormons. In the church all the young men are encouraged to go on missions to serve the Lord and share his Gospel and that idea was always embedded into my mind ever since I was little. But I never really had a true desire and reason to do it. Until a few months before I got called to California to share the Gospel I was reading the Book of Mormon and I felt the spirit very strongly and it made me so happy. After that I knew that this is why I want to go on a mission was because the Gospel which is contained in the Book Of Mormon as well as the Bible makes me happy and brings peace into my life and I wanted to share this with others. I know that this Christs church and that it has been restored to its original organization that our Lord has called a Prophet back on the earth to teach us and help us find our way back to the Kingdom of God as worthy servants. I also know the Book of Mormon is inspired from God and was translated from the records of the ancient inhabitants of the Americas. I'm glad to have been born into all this and I know that I am blessed for it.

How I live my faith

In my youth I have been called as a leader many times for the different age groups associated in the Young Mens organization of the church. Ive been able to be an example for them and lead them in their responsibilities and Young Men in the church. When i got out of Highschool i was called as a Teacher for the children of the Church. I taught the 11 to 12 year olds. It was a challenging calling as i did not have the patience nor the focus to teach a class of energetic kids. But i think it really prepared me for my mission for the church that i did. I was able to teach many people the Gospel and i was even able to baptize many. My teaching skills greatly improved because of that and i know understand the Gospel much better because of those teaching opportunites. At this moment i dont have any specific responsbilities but i try my best to support others in the church and to render Christ-like service to my fellow neighbors.
