Hi I'm Marti

I am raising five children. I love outdoor adventures. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 37 years old. My children are 16, 14, 10, 7, 4 and not quite 1. I am a stay at home mom. Only by title - as we try to do lots of things away from home. I take my children to school, the library, down town, museums, hiking, swimming and many other activities. We love to explore our city. My husband works hard so I can stay home with our children. Some of my interests are crafts, running, sewing, sports, hiking, cooking and saving money.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the LDS faith by good parents who taught me the gospel from birth. Many times as a child I felt the power of the Holy Ghost bear testimony to me that their teachings were true. I was baptized at eight years old by my father. I feel I've always had a testimony of this gospel. The teachings of the LDS faith are easy for me to understand. They make perfect sense. The Holy Ghost is the teacher of truth. He will teach us if we are willing to learn. Most of who I am today and the blessings I enjoy are a direct result of living the gospel of Jesus Christ. I married my sweetheart in the Salt Lake Temple 18 years ago. We have a great marriage and we enjoy a peaceful home life with our children because we live the gospel. Jesus Christ is the example for everyone to follow. I know if we turn our life to him he will make so much more of our life than we can on our own. We are all children of our Heavenly Father. He loves everyone as his own. We never know what struggles and trials people have, but he does. If we love and serve each other, hate and pride will disappear from us and we will be guided by his love. This is the gospel of Jesus Christ on earth! He leads this great and marvelous work! And I'm blessed to be a part of it!

How I live my faith

I volunteer at our church with the children. It is so sweet to hear them sing about Jesus and choosing the right. Jesus told us to be as a child to enter the kingdom of heaven. I am learning more each time I serve about what he meant. Children are teachable, humble and full of love and admiration for anyone who takes the time to love and teach them. I also try hard to raise my family in the way the Lord would want me to. I teach them to love and serve others. We have family home evening each week and attend church on Sundays. I read the conference talks from the latest conference and study the scriptures. I especially love the Book of Mormon. It brings me closer to Christ and to my family as we read it together.
