Hi I'm Melissa

I'm adopted. I'm a single mom. I'm a singer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was adopted into an LDS family at birth. With both adopted siblings and birth children of my adopted parents. Families are forever and that includes mine. We have all been sealed together in the temple. I hope that my birth family has the gospel in their lives but if not, my dream is to one day share it with them. I spent 10 years or so without the gospel in my life starting shortly after graduating highschool. I made choices, learned some lessons, married, divorced and gave birth to my children during that time. My desire to return to activity in the church was similar to my desire to find my birth family. Something was always missing. Something that connects us all.

Why I am a Mormon

I've always had a testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel. Although it was small, childlike. It kept the desire to return to the gospel alight after so many years. It is also the reason I think, why I love teaching my primary class. We are on the same rung on the spiritual ladder so to speak. I know though that as I continue to learn and teach my children and those of my ward that my testimony will grow. Having the ability to choose to live the gospel makes it that much more precious to me. I know where I would be without it, because I have been there already. How thankful I am to nolonger be lost, but found. (St Luke 15:1-7)

How I live my faith

I try to help neighbors as often as I can. I teach my children to offer service whenever possible. One of my favorite forms of service is to shovel walks in the winter for our older sister members. I have taught in the nursery and primary. I sing when I can in the ward choir.
