Hi I'm Darlene

I'm a wife, a mom of two, a sister, & a daughter. I love my family. I love the church. I love Jesus Christ. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm happily married to a return missionary who has been my friend & companion for 5 years now. We are blessed with two precious kids, a 4 year old daughter & 1 year old son. I'm a teacher by profession but choose to stay at home to personally take care of them. I love my family more than anything else in this world.

Why I am a Mormon

I've been member of the church for 15 years now. My decision in joining the church is something I never regret in my life. My dad was the first one to accept the gospel in our family. I never thought that he would be converted & go to the waters of baptism because seldom I saw him go to church when we were yet in a catholic faith. Anyways, my dad's example is one of the reasons why I joined the church. I saw in him a mighty change of heart. He became a better person. At first, I was reluctant but I really wanted to know the truth and experience the same thing that happened to my dad. So long story short, I went on my knees & asked God in prayer if this is really the true church of God and if the message of the missionaries shared to me is true. That night, after I prayed, I had a dream. I saw Jesus Christ with His arms wide open asking me to come unto Him. It seems so real! I woke up with tears in my eyes & it was then that I knew that it is true. When the missionaries came for another discussion, they showed me a picture of Jesus Christ in white robe. They said it's a second coming picture of Jesus Christ. To my amazement I couldn't say a word for like a couple of minutes because that Jesus Christ in the picture is the same Jesus Christ that I saw in my dream. So right there & then, I asked them to set the schedule of my baptism. Being a member of the church is the best thing that happen to me. I met my husband in the church. My goal to be married in the temple came true because my husband is a worthy priesthood holder of the church. Now, I have my own happy family because we always strive to obey the commandments of the Lord & always stay on a higher ground like the church. I couldn't imagine myself without the fullness of the gospel in my life. Though life is not always bed of roses, but then again, knowing our Heavenly Father's plan of happiness makes the difference.

How I live my faith

Since I became a member of the church I feel honored to serve others and give service to other people. During my teens, I was called to be a Sunday school teacher for the youth then I was also a seminary teacher in our ward. When I got married, I was then called to teach in the relief society class, it's the Lord's organization for women. Before we went here in the US, my previous calling back in the Philippines was Primary Second Counselor. Through Sunday meetings and weekday activities, we are helping children learn and live gospel principles; make and keep sacred covenants; and build strong, enduring testimonies. Where ever we go, our family always see to it to stay close in the church. Even now that we are here in California, we continue going to church as a family. We pray as a family, we do things as a family, and we have faith that we'll be together forever as a family 'til eternity....& that's priceless!
