Hi I'm William Groshong

I started my mission in the Utah Ogden Mission, but now serve in the Utah Salt Lake City Mission. I am a musician. I'm Mormon.

About Me

My parents are both converts to the Church. My mom joined as a teenager and my dad joined as a young man with two young daughters. We moved around the States many times, but we eventually settled in a small town in Ohio. My two brothers and I both went to a Catholic school while growing up. I play music, mostly on guitar. I do write my own music and I have played in many bands back home. After graduating, I worked for my grandpa at a Tool & Die shop where I did a little bit of everything and saw many of our products through from each stage of the manufacturing up until it left the shop. I worked on guitars and other's amps and other electrical equipment on the side for a little pocket money. I consider myself a convert to the Church, as my testimony didn't truly take root until just before I left on my mission at 20. I received my mission call to the Utah Ogden Mission and currently serve in the Utah Salt Lake City Mission. I am a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

Even though I grew up in the Church, I did not always have a firm testimony of it's truthfulness, or even more than a mundane comprehension of the Lord's will for me. Over time and trial and eventually turning the Lord in humility and prayer, I asked to know whether He lived and what I should do. My answer, was to read the Book of Mormon that had been sitting on my nightstand for the many years of my youth, which I had never read more than 10 pages of. Reading just a few lines from it had allowed the Holy Spirit to make manifest to me the truth to which I was searching for, for the answers to questions that I had, and the peace of knowing that I have a loving Heavenly Father and a loving Savior, Jesus Christ, both of which have prepared for me a way to return to them if I would follow their voice.

How I live my faith

I am an Eagle Scout. I have served in the Church as an Elder's Quorum teacher and served with the president of the quorum in the reactivation of members. I am currently serving a mission in the Utah Salt Lake City Mission. In the community, I played music, participated in "improv" groups, and worked constantly to serve others. I keep the covenants and promises I have made with my Heavenly Father. I search for truth through consistent and diligent scripture study. I excersize faith in prayer. I trust the Lord in all things.
