Hi I'm Kristene

I like to read I like to travel. I love to teach young children I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a sunbeam (ages 3 turning 4) teacher and have been for 5 years. I love to see the small children mature from wiggly, small attention span, almost babies to little people who can share and help and even sometimes write their own names. I learn something every year from my kids. Sometimes its patience, or eternal love, or sometimes it is as simple as really listening to the child and the spirit. I love to read. I am single and an Aunt of 9. I love Family History

Why I am a Mormon

It started out that I was a Mormon because my parents, grand-parents, and great-grandparents were Mormons. Then in high school it was easier to go to seminary and church than to fight. Then I turned 18 started going to a singles ward and actually had to get a testimony of my own. I had to decide for my self and ask myself the hard questions. Did I believe in a loving Heavenly Father? Was there life after death? Did Joseph Smith really see God the Father and Jesus or was it just a nice little story? Why do we do Family History and is it really important? After prayer, fasting and opening my eyes to the miracles that happen all around us every day, I found out that yes our Father in Heaven loves us and very much so roots for us to succeed in our journey/trial. Not only is our Father rooting for us our generations that passed on before us and are sealed to us are rooting for us. One of the first lessons I teach my little kids every year is I am a child of God. I get to teach them that they have a mother and a father here on Earth, but they also have people who love them and care for them and want very much for them to succeed and are waiting for them to come back to our true home. Those people are Our Father in Heaven and our Savior Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by always dressing modestly and keeping my language clean in every way. I don't usually go out partying in fact I am more likely to be home then out. I teach young children in the church so I am always on the lookout for things I can transform onto things they can learn with. This may and most often includes getting things from work that we would normally throw away I may save for music shakers or spy glasses. This often leads to why am I saving them. That then leads to what I do in the church. That leads to what religion am I. The answer to that question is always the same: "LDS or Mormon". Knowing my answer will always be the same I try to live the standards so I don't leave a "bad taste" for our religion in anyone's mouth, or be seen as hypocritical.
